Empowering Conversations and Advocacy: The Endo Black, Inc. Mini Talk Series

Endometriosis affects millions of women worldwide, causing chronic pain and disruptions to daily life. To address the lack of awareness and support surrounding this condition, Endo Black, Inc. launched the Mini Talk Series Pilot Program. This series fosters dialogue, empowers young women to advocate for themselves, and provides safe spaces for discussing menstrual and reproductive health. Let's explore the impactful events at Howard University and Morgan State University in April 2023 and our goals for the future.

The Mini Talk Series had two objectives: to promote dialogue and ensure at least 50% of individuals adopt safe methods for managing endometriosis pain. It also aimed to create a supportive environment for women aged 18 to 22 to share their menstrual and reproductive experiences, combatting racial injustices within the healthcare system.

The events at Howard University and Morgan State University engaged college-trained women within the critical age range for endometriosis symptoms. We thank our panelists and moderators for their invaluable contributions. We are grateful to our presenting sponsor, Myovant Sciences, which is dedicated to advancing women's health. Her Poppy and Semaine Health also supported our collaboration with Black Girls Votes and their collegiate chapters.

Attendees provided positive feedback. One important takeaway was the significance of finding the right healthcare provider and not hesitating to seek alternatives. Students emphasized the need to address endometriosis within communities and healthcare systems, advocating for better awareness and self-advocacy.

Endo Black, Inc. aims to expand the Mini Talk Series to 15 colleges by 2024. We invite interested individuals and organizations to support this initiative through in-kind or monetary contributions, enabling us to raise awareness and improve support for endometriosis. The Endo Black, Inc. Mini Talk Series empowers women by fostering dialogue, advocacy, and support. By expanding this initiative, we aim to empower more young women, dismantle racial injustices in healthcare, and improve the quality of life for individuals with endometriosis. Together, we can promote change and health equity and ensure no one battles endometriosis alone.
